# About Maestria OPS Maestria OPS Ltd is my advisory firm for AI implementation and assurance in high-hazard operations. I founded it after about 30 years running and auditing oil, gas and chemical operations. For larger reviews I bring in independent specialists. ## What does the name stand for? OPS stands for Oversight, Performance and Systems. - Oversight: independent governance, assurance and accountability, with safeguards proportionate to the risk. - Performance: operational and commercial results that last, in complex, high-risk environments. - Systems: the operational systems, processes and controls an organisation relies on, with AI built into them. ## Founder: Carl Goodwin I have spent about 30 years in oil, gas and chemical operations, most of it running or auditing sites that manage major accident risk. - 2022 to 2026, bp: production lead in country for an FLNG project start-up in Mauritania and Senegal. I built the national operations capability, including 48 apprentice technicians. - 2019 to 2022, bp: operations manager, then deputy general manager, of the In Amenas gas processing joint venture in Algeria, with more than 1,000 people. - 2011 to 2019, bp: senior auditor, operational risk, across upstream, downstream and chemicals. I designed audit lines of enquiry built to hold up under challenge. Over my career I have delivered more than 50 management system audits and improvement plans worldwide. - 2001 to 2011, INEOS, Ribécourt, France: operations on an upper-tier Seveso polymer plant, as operations and technology leader from 2006, and acting site manager.
