An AI specialist for your audit team

I join internal audit and HSE audit teams in high-hazard industries as the AI specialist for a specific audit, where AI now informs operational or maintenance decisions. Your team leads the audit and owns the report.

When does an audit need an AI specialist?

When the audit scope includes a decision that AI informs: maintenance planning, inspection intervals, production optimisation, alarm handling, or procedures and permits drafted with AI. The protocol then needs questions it does not yet hold. What was the model trained on, and what can it not see? Who changed it last, and did that change go through management of change? Can operators still run the process without it?

What I bring to the audit team

Seven years as a senior operational risk auditor at bp, designing audit lines of enquiry built to hold up under challenge. Operations experience on gas processing, LNG and Seveso chemical sites, so findings are framed in terms the asset recognises. Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 42001, IOGP 817-1, the EU AI Act and DNV-RP-0671.

How does a co-sourced audit work?

I prepare the AI lines of enquiry with your team, take part in interviews, document review and field checks, and draft the findings on the AI scope for your team to adopt into its report. I work on site or remotely.
